Breast Cancer Awareness Month may almost be over, but not quite. You still have time to raise money for research before All Hallows’ Eve (Halloween, y’all).
Designers and entertainers created artistic bras that went on silent auction today as part of Bras for Breast Cancer. Mountain Brook native and actress Courteney Cox (hi, CeCe!), country singer Shelly Colvin and fashion designer Kay Unger all contributed pieces for the effort.
Supporters can view the bras online at MyScoop and select their favorites by donating $1 per vote. The bras can be seen in person (but not on person) at Gus Mayer in Colonial Brookwood Village in Homewood, where viewers can not only vote for their faves, but also bid on them, too. The campaign runs through Oct. 31, and all funds raised go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama, based in Birmingham.
