Dude…”The Big Lebowski” kicks of Black & White’s Thursday Cinema Club.

Locally-owned entertainment newspaper Black & White has revived its Thursday Cinema Club film series at the Alabama Theater starting with “The Big Lebowski” this Thursday night…and you’re encouraged to come in costume.  “We hope to see lots of bowling shirts, robes and slacker outfits in general,” says Brant Beene, General Manger of the Alabama Theater.  The theater will be serving White Russians, the dude’s drink of choice, for $6 during “The Big Lebowski” screening.  Black & White has special prizes for those who wear their slacker apparel.

“They don’t make movie theaters like this anymore,” says Beene.  “The Alabama Theater is a special place, and it’s a great opportunity to see these modern day classics on the biggest screen in Alabama.”  The theater recently upgraded their digital projection screen and audio systems for an enhanced movie-going experience.

The six series schedule for the film series runs on consecutive Thursdays starting on January 12th and ending on February 16th:

Doors to the theater will open at 6:30pm.  Social hour starts at 7pm, and all films start at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased for $10.30 ($9.00 + $1.30 handling charge) at Ticketmaster or at the Alabama Theater box office.  The Alabama Theater is located at 1817 3rd Ave North in Birmingham.  Black & White has set up a facebook page for Thursday Cinema Club as well.
